Ali is best loved for playing series regular Becca Dean in the Channel Four hit soap Hollyoaks. She then went on to create the role of fiesty PC Sally Armstrong in the UK's longest running police drama, The Bill. Following that, she was a finalist on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing (The UK version of 'Dancing With The Stars') and won the Christmas Special with her partner Brian Fortuna. 

More recently Ali has appeared in numerous films, including the critically acclaimed and awarded Who Is Alice and cult classics  Escape and Undercover Hooligan.

She is currently appearing as guest lead Chevonne Lumionne in BBC's Holby City.

Ali has also crossed to the other side of the camera, taking on directing and tutoring at one of London's premiere filmmaking schools: The Met Film School.
